Among the penalized institutions are the prestigious King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi, and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS). The fines vary, with some institutions facing penalties as high as ₹20 lakh, amounting to crores in total. This strict measure aims to ensure that these colleges adhere to the necessary standards for medical education and facilities.
