In a shocking revelation ahead of the NEET UG 2026 examination, Bihar Police has uncovered a large-scale interstate racket involved in arranging fake scholars to appear in competitive exams on behalf of real candidates. Three individuals, including a student from Pawapuri (VMIMS) Medical College, have been arrested in connection with the scam.

According to police investigations, the accused were operating a sophisticated network that charged candidates up to ₹25 lakh for providing highly qualified “scholars” to impersonate them in crucial examinations such as NEET. The racket reportedly involved both current and former medical students.

Authorities seized two luxury vehicles, ₹2.95 lakh in cash, multiple admit cards from examination centers across Bihar, and several incriminating digital records from the suspects. Police officials stated that crucial evidence, including chat records related to financial transactions and exam arrangements, was recovered from mobile devices.

The operation came to light during a late-night vehicle inspection, when suspicious individuals attempted to flee after spotting police personnel. Upon search, officers discovered hidden cash and documents linked to the fraudulent activities.

Investigators revealed that the alleged mastermind, believed to be a former medical student, is currently absconding. The arrested individuals reportedly worked together to coordinate candidates, fake scholars, logistics, and financial transactions.

Rajgir DSP Sunil Kumar Singh confirmed that the network was active at multiple examination centers of NEET UG 2026 and may have wider connections across several districts.

This incident has raised serious concerns about the integrity of competitive examinations and the misuse of medical education networks for organized fraud. Experts warn that such scams not only undermine merit-based admissions but also threaten the credibility of national-level entrance examinations.

Police have launched an extensive investigation, and further arrests are expected as the crackdown on the network continues in NEET UG 2026.
