An AIIMS intern was physically assaulted at PHC Chhainsa and slapped hard by an attendant. Patient attendant has given death threat to that ‘intern on duty’ as well as other doctors working at PHC chainnsa. While coming back to AIIMS, A car was found to be tailing the car in which intern was rushing back to AIIMS. A security guard claimed ‘the patient’s attendant has managed to gather 60 people, included some with weapons/criminal history, in his house’. This is not the first case of doctors being assaulted on duty. But the question is till when life of life saviors will be at risk?
Here is the communication of one of the colleague of the doctor about the incident:-
A horrific incident of violence against one of our co-intern had occurred at PHC Chhainsa.
We deeply condemn this incident.
I request interns posted at PHC Chhainsa to stop services with immediate effect until safe and secure working environment is not provided and an appropriate action is not taken against the accused.
A meeting was held at PHC Chhainsa by CCM faculty members, the Chhainsa sarpanch, the CSO, and the SHO, where the matter was suppressed without any action being taken. They only registered a complaint but did not file an FIR.
Harshal salve said this is a part of the job and said that soldiers of the border also get hit sometimes
They also said to (the guy who got hit) that the institute won’t do anything and if he’s going to go for a case he’ll have to do it personally.
They also followed him in a black scorpion car till he reached ballabgarh
During this time they became frustrated that we are not treating them according to the way they wanted (one of them wanted the doctor to give CPR on the abdomen) and got frustrated and hit on the head
The CCM SRs and JRs have admitted that there was no lapse in the treatment from our side and this was an Unprovoked attack
After this incident the patient was revived and shifted to another hospital via ambulance.
RDA has taken up this issue and decided to go against the administration.
Here is the CCTV footage of the incident:
