What you ‘Should NOT’ do during your NEET preparation!

NEET – a dream to lakh but only cup of tea for some. Every year lakhs of students apply to clear neet exam but only thousands get the seat. Have you ever realise the mistakes many students often make in the journey through the India’s most prestigious exam? Many students are doing such things that are even not required resulting in wastage of there time and energy both!

As a medical student, I have my own journey and have come across some things which one can avoid during there NEET ug preparation:-

  • There are many students out there who doesn’t focus on ncert and are continually revolving around some coaching material.
  • Yes it is important to clear concepts and clear doubts for which a mentor/coaching is required. But only sticking around there pdfs and books doesn’t lay you good too. You  have to focus on ncert more.
  • Questions in NEET directly comes from the ncert book itself and ncert is just sufficient to clear this entrance exam.
  • You will waste you time moving from one source to another.
  • PYQs are the legs on which every exam stands.
  • Yes that Is quite true as you will remember from your boards exam. NEET also contains question directly from its past papers.
  • Meanwhile, past year questions also give you a though idea about the amount of question coming from a particular chapter, difficulty level of different subject, ideas for important topics to be asked in the exam and many more things.
  • In short, PYQs are the diamonds in the piles of coal.
  • It is human brain, yes it can’t remember whole thing in a small fraction of time. it’s normal tendency to forget things.
  • Continuous revision is the only option to avoid this.
  • Many students just study once and plan to study in last time. This is not the correct way. You may not recall all the thing in last time. It may generate some doubts it may generate some confusions. And you ended up in having nothing.
  • Revising on regular basis is only way to remember topics throughout the session and grasping topics in your mind.
  • Mock test are the extra edge things you should do to secure a good rank in the neet exam
  • Mock tests help you in understanding your grasp on a particular topics, your strategy in neet exams and in management of time in a time bonded pressurized conditions.
  • Mock test also help you understand your weak points so that you can work on that.
  • Not having a good and soung study schedule will even make a wise student fail.
  • Studying in proper and smarter way makes time management and short wastage of time.
  • It is not necessary to study 13-14 hours. A perfect and sounds study of 8 hours is still sufficient provided you are dedicated towards it.
  • In short you should make a wise time table to study, for relaxing and all.
  • As a senior, I have also came across varies distraction will you encounter in your though journey. It is on you to decide weather to eat fruit today and regret the decision later or to enjoy being a medico and have no regrets at all.
  • In short, things which leads your time depletion should be avoided unless necessary.
Doesn’t DOUBT yourself!
  • You are doing great. It is not in need to doubt yourself or compare yourself with others. All are made differently and all have different methods to analyse and study.
  • Comparing yourself self will lead to depression and anxiety. It is not good for your preparations.
  • As much possible, avoid negative news. It also effect your brain and leads to depression.
  • Last but not the least it is important to maintain your health.
  • what it is all the fame, if your can’t hear it”. Said true, what is all you are preparing for…… . For a good life. Not taking care of your health in this preparation only cost you later.
  • Not only later, a healthy mind and body is necessary for a fit and fine study.
  • Study hard but don’t forget to eat and sleep properly and timely. Good mind helps you grasping topics easily and wisely.
  • In short, it is true saying health is wealth”  and you should work on that too.
  • Take proper diet, enough fruits for vital nutrients and vitamins and don’t forgot to take proper rest as well as refreshment.
  • Avoid using social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and all. There is no need of this in your neet journey.
  • For information, notes, study material, etc prefer your coaching platforms or YouTube.
  • Avoid constant party and all. There is old saying that “enjoy the fruit only when it ripes.”regular going out and parties will distract you from your target.
  • Avoid fake articles, posts, news regarding neet. Believe only on official data. It will only distract you and waste your time.
  • Spend some time alone in fresh air to relax. Fresh air relax your mind.
  • Listen good soft music on mental exhausting. It is nature of brain to exhaust. No person can read constantly, you can take break between the study hours.

All the Best for your NEET exams!
