This long-awaited move comes after consistent efforts, protests, and strong advocacy led by medical students, organizations, and key influencers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"636\" height=\"908\" src=\"https:\/\/medcollegedarshan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-09-02-at-12.45.07_89b9848c.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6469\" srcset=\"https:\/\/medcollegedarshan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-09-02-at-12.45.07_89b9848c.jpg 636w, https:\/\/medcollegedarshan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-09-02-at-12.45.07_89b9848c-210x300.jpg 210w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 636px) 100vw, 636px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from this, interns in <strong>Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy<\/strong> will now receive <strong>Rs 20,000 per month<\/strong>, as announced by the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hike follows weeks of agitation from interns of state medical colleges who had been demanding a raise to <strong>Rs 40,000 per month<\/strong>, pointing out stark disparities with stipends in other states such as <strong>West Bengal (Rs 43,000)<\/strong> and <strong>Odisha (Rs 40,000)<\/strong>. The interns had also warned of intensifying protests, including disrupting OPD services, if their demands were ignored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This achievement is being celebrated not just as a financial win, but as a triumph of collective action. <strong>Influencers such as Dr. Dhruv Chauhan, Dr. Amit Vyas, Dr. Bhanu Kumar and social media platforms like Medicopenia, Chill with Pill, Surgical Hand<\/strong>  played a crucial role in uniting voices and amplifying the issue on social media, drawing the attention of policymakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">MBBS interns in Bihar are paid just \u20b920,000\/month \u2014 less than many daily wage workers. However, many interns still believe this should only be the beginning and continue to push for further revision to match national standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This decision highlights how <strong>student solidarity, transparent advocacy, and influential voices can together move the needle in medical education policy<\/strong>.
