Amritsar, April 25 \u2014 In a grim repeat of a previous incident of suicide, a first-year MBBS student at Sri Guru Ram Das Medical College<\/a>, Vallah, was found dead in his hostel room on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Atinderpal Singh, a resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

According to sources, a fellow classmate discovered Atinderpal’s body hanging in his room after being prompted by concerned family members. The family had reportedly grown anxious after repeated calls to the student went unanswered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident has reignited concerns over the institution\u2019s approach to student mental health and well-being. It also raises questions about whether any preventive measures were implemented after a similar suicide reported at the college in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case is currently under investigation, led by SHO Amanjot Kaur. The body has been sent for postmortem, and the exact cause of death will be determined following forensic examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
