Bihar is all set to organize the 7th Swami Vivekananda Swasthya Sewa Yatra (SVSSY)<\/strong> on 12th January 2025<\/strong>, which promises to be one of the largest health camps ever held in India. This initiative, led by the National Medicos Organization (NMO) Bihar Unit<\/a><\/strong>, aims to provide free medical care to the underprivileged and marginalized sections of society. With over 700 locations<\/strong> identified across Bihar and participation from more than 2,000 doctors, medical students, and volunteers<\/strong>, the event is set to break all previous records and create a new benchmark in community healthcare outreach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Genesis of SVSSY<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The idea of SVSSY was born in December 2017<\/strong> when Dr. Vijendra<\/strong>, then President of NMO Bharat, and Dr. Yuvendra Malik<\/strong>, Secretary of NMO Bihar, envisioned organizing a health camp that could operate simultaneously across multiple locations in a city. Despite the challenges of arranging medicines, funds, and manpower, their determination led to the creation of a prototype health camp in January 2018<\/strong>. The timing coincided with Makar Sankranti<\/strong> and Swami Vivekananda Yuva Diwas<\/strong>, inspiring the name Swami Vivekananda Swasthya Sewa Yatra<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first SVSSY was held at 60 locations<\/strong> in collaboration with Sewa Bharti<\/strong> and managed by Dr. Ashwini<\/strong>, then a Senior Resident at IGIMS. With participation from four medical colleges in Patna\u2014PMCH, NMCH, IGIMS, and AIIMS\u2014each college took responsibility for managing 15 camps. The success of the first SVSSY laid the foundation for subsequent editions, which expanded significantly in scope and scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
