The Supreme Court of India emphasized the need for absolute precision in the conduct of the NEET-UG 2024 exams, urging the Union Government and the National Testing Agency<\/a> (NTA) to address even the slightest negligence with utmost seriousness. The vacation bench, comprising Justices Vikram Nath<\/strong> and S.V. Bhatti<\/strong>, made these remarks while hearing a writ petition that raised issues similar to those in previous cases, such as paper leaks, malpractices, and the controversial awarding of grace marks to some candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strict Action for Even Minimal Negligence<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Justice Bhatti underscored the necessity of addressing any errors, however minor, stating, “Even if there is 0.001% negligence on the part of anyone, it should be thoroughly dealt with.”<\/strong><\/em> said during NEET SC Hearing. He stressed that the integrity of the examination process is crucial, given the significant effort candidates invest in preparing for this highly competitive test. Justice Bhatti also noted the potential societal dangers posed by individuals who might become doctors through fraudulent means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Call for Proactive Measures<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

During the NEET SC Hearing, the bench called on the NTA and the Union Government to act proactively and transparently. Justice Bhatti remarked, “If there is a mistake, yes there is a mistake, this is the action we will take- at least that inspires confidence in your performance.”<\/em><\/strong> He pointed out that such an approach would help restore public trust in the NEET examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The justices emphasized that the matter should not be treated as adversarial litigation, highlighting the importance of cooperation and accountability in resolving the issues at hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
