Characteristics:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Color: Ranges from pale yellow to deep amber, influenced by hydration levels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A very well-hydrated person will have clear urine color, while a dark golden color can be due to dehydration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Normal urine is often a pale yellow color due to urochrome, a pigment produced by the breakdown of hemoglobin.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-pale-ocean-gradient-background has-background\">Abnormal Colors:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><mark style=\"background-color:#ff0000\" class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\"><strong>Red:<\/strong><\/mark>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Presence of Red Blood cells or urine.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Causes: Malaria, typhoid, yellow fever, or hemolytic jaundice.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#000000\" class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\">White or Milky:<\/mark><\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Also known as chyluria, indicates the presence of lymph in urine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Most commonly associated with the parasitic infection Wuchereria Bancrofti, but can also have non-infectious causes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Causes: Trauma, congenital lymphatic malformation (e.g., lymphatic-urinary fistula), post-surgery (e.g., nephrectomy), congenital stenosis of thoracic duct.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#802121\" class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\">Dark Brown or Black:<\/mark><\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Alkaptonuria, or black urine disease.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Clarity: Normally clear.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cloudiness might indicate the presence of mucus, cells, or microbes as in UTIs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foamy: Excessive bubbles might indicate protein in the urine, a potential sign of kidney disease.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Odor: Mild odor due to ammonia.<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> In conditions like liver disease, it may smell musty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foul smell indicates bladder infection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mousy smell in the case of Phenylketonuria.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sweet smell in the case of diabetes mellitus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Another genetic disorder makes it smell like maple syrup.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Volume: <\/strong>About 800 to 2,000 milliliters per day for adults, varying with fluid intake.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Polyuria:<\/strong> Urinary volume >2000ml\/24 hrs.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Causes: Diabetes mellitus, diabetes insipidus, chronic renal failure, and diuretic therapy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Oliguria:<\/strong> Urinary volume &lt;400ml\/24 hrs.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Causes: Febrile states, acute glomerulonephritis, congestive cardiac failure, or dehydration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Anuria:<\/strong> Urinary output &lt;100ml\/24 hrs or complete cessation of urine output.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Causes: Acute tubular necrosis, acute glomerulonephritis, and complete urinary tract obstruction.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>pH:<\/strong> Usually slightly acidic, ranging from 5.6 to 7.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Acidic urine:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Causes: Large intake of meat &amp; certain fruits (cranberries), metabolic &amp; respiratory acidosis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Alkaline urine:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Causes: Vegetarians, metabolic &amp; respiratory alkalosis, urinary tract infection by
