Hence it is a mosquito borne fever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:21px\"><mark style=\"background-color:#9b51e0\" class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\"><strong>\u2022 <u>Transmission <\/u><\/strong>:                                                                                                                                               <\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dengue virus is commonly spread by the Aedes mosquito, which is a nervous feeder( it bites repeatedly to more than one person to complete it\u2019s meal) and hence chances of transmission is high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:21px\"><mark style=\"background-color:#00d084\" class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\"><strong>\u2022 <u>Symptoms <\/u><\/strong>:                                                                                                                                                  <\/mark>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dengue fever have following symptoms :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>High fever ( often biphasic) \u2013 also called as break bone fever.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Frontal headaches<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Muscles And joints pain .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maculopapular rashes over chest and arms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enlargement of liver<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Decreased platelets count<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>In severe cases there will be hemorrhage, narrow pulse, restlessness, and may the person get into state of shock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"719\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/medcollegedarshan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/dengue-infographic-719x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1996\" srcset=\"https:\/\/medcollegedarshan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/dengue-infographic-719x1024.png 719w, https:\/\/medcollegedarshan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/dengue-infographic-211x300.png 211w, https:\/\/medcollegedarshan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/dengue-infographic-768x1093.png 768w, https:\/\/medcollegedarshan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/dengue-infographic-1079x1536.png 1079w, https:\/\/medcollegedarshan.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/dengue-infographic-1439x2048.png 1439w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 719px) 100vw, 719px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:21px\"><mark style=\"background-color:#fcb900\" class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\"><strong>\u2022 <u>Laboratory diagnosis<\/u>\/ <u>Preferred test <\/u>:<\/strong>                                                                                                        <\/mark>                                                                    <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are few test which is done for dengue investigation and it\u2019s confirmation. Some of them are :-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>NS1 Antigen detection<\/strong> \u2013 <strong>ELISA or ICT<\/strong> are used for this antigen detection. This antigen is detected from day 1 of the fever and remains positive up to day 18. It is a highly specific test.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ANTIBODY detection ( Ig G and Ig M)<\/strong> \u2013 Ig G antibody is detected in 14-21 day and then slowly increase. IgG levels increases in secondary infection and in chronic cases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Complete Blood Count ( CBC )<\/strong> &#8211; for complete blood components and platelets analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>IgM antibody detection generally means acute or primary infection. Mac ELISA test is used to perform IgM antibody detection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rapid diagnostic test \u2013 eg \u2013 ICT<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Real time rt-pcr.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Genotype detection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Viral isolation method.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:22px\"><mark style=\"background-color:#ff0000\" class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\">\u2022 <strong><u>Treatment <\/u><\/strong>:                                                                                                                                                   <\/mark>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dengue should be detected and treated immediately as it can be fatal if untreated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for now we doesn\u2019t have any definitive treatment of dengue. We only give supportive treatment. Some of important steps are:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Blood platelets transfusion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proper rest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drink as much water to stay hydrated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use of paracetamol to control fever.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Dengue spread is very common. So protective measures should be taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:22px\"><mark style=\"background-color:#7bdcb5\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">\u2022 <strong><u>Prevention <\/u>:<\/strong>                                                                                                                                                    <\/mark>               <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is development of vaccine for dengue virus is ongoing and once implemented it is of great use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Till now following measure is taken care of:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use of mosquito net.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spreading of insecticide to kill the mosquito<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintaining proper hygiene<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Larvae generally develop in stagnant water. So this type of water should be discarded and nearby water sources should be regularly cleaned.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Person shouldn\u2019t sleep on ground as there is high chances that the mosquito will attack the person.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>So the protective measures is generally mosquito control method which should be implemented to prevent the Occurance of dengue. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:#008bdc\" class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\"><strong>\u2022 <u>caution<\/u> <u>that<\/u> <u>should<\/u> <u>be<\/u> <u>taken<\/u> <u>care<\/u> <u>of<\/u> :<\/strong>                                                                                                         <\/mark>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Avoid use of any unwanted drugs\/ antibiotics without doctors advice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Patient should be monitored regularly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Platelet count should be monitored regularly.
