What is BHMS?

Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery is abbreviated as BHMS. It is an undergraduate degree program in homeopathy, a branch of alternative medicine. Homeopathy is a form of medicine that adheres to the idea that “like cures like,” or that chemicals that might induce symptoms in a healthy person can be used to treat symptoms in a sick person.

The normal length of the BHMS curriculum is five and a half years, which includes the required internship time. The curriculum includes classes in anatomy, physiology, pathology, materia medica (the study of pharmaceuticals), homeopathy, pharmacy, and clinical training. To equip students to diagnose and treat patients using homeopathic principles, the program integrates theoretical knowledge with practical instruction.

Graduates of the BHMS program may opt to continue their studies in specialized fields of homeopathy or pursue a career as a homeopathic practitioner in private practice, homeopathic hospitals, or clinics. It’s important to keep in mind that different nations may have different laws, recognition requirements, and practicing restrictions for homeopathy.
