Recently the government has released a gazette on National Exit Test Regulations 2023 for the NExT exam. This includes guidelines on exam pattern, process of examination, schedule, marking scheme and eligibility. After its release, many MBBS students and doctors opposed and demanded its withdrawal.

The entire medical fraternity is continuously raising their concern over the implementation of NExT and demanding its withdrawal through protest from different colleges of the country and on social media too. Several protests were also reported on the doctors day.

Now, few media reports and sources of NMC are claiming that the NExT scheduled for November this year is most likely to cancelled and it will first take place from May 2024. The main reason behind this decision could be the incompletion of course in different universities and according to sources the NMC has asked universities to send the current status of course completion and then any announcement will be done officially, but there is no such confirmation by any officials of NMC.

As per the sources, the official update regarding cancellation is expected in the mid July. Keep visiting the official website of NMC or Notice section of our website for official update.
