
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced the result of the NEET PG 2025 examination. The postgraduate medical entrance test, held on August 3, 2025, saw 2,30,114 candidates appearing out of 2,42,493 registered applicants, with 1,28,116 candidates qualifying.
According to the official notification, individual scorecards of NEET PG 2025 aspirants will be available from August 29, 2025. Aspirants can download their scorecards using their login ID and password through the NBEMS website (natboard.edu.in).
Top Performers and Merit Trends
The top 10 ranks have secured exceptionally high scores, with Rank 1 obtaining 707 marks and Rank 10 at 689 marks, indicating a narrow margin among the top scorers.

Exam Review and Technical Accuracy
Every question from the NEET PG 2025 paper underwent review by faculty members from the respective specialty areas to verify technical accuracy and correctness of answer keys. NBEMS has confirmed that no question was found technically incorrect. Candidates dissatisfied with their total score or rank can immediately approach NBEMS authorities for clarification.
Seat Availability for NEET PG 2025
The Ministry has announced that 49,790 postgraduate seats will be offered this year under the National Medical Commission (NMC):
- 30,384 seats in government institutions
- 19,406 seats in private institutions
The NEET PG 2025 scorecard will be valid only for the 2025–26 academic session, meaning admissions must be secured within this cycle.
Eligibility and Admission Process
Candidates holding an MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate recognized under the NMC Act, 2019, with permanent or provisional MBBS registration and completion of a one-year internship by the prescribed cut-off date, are eligible to participate in the counseling process.
NEET-PG serves as the single entrance examination for admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses in India, covering:
- All India 50% Quota seats
- State quota seats
- All private medical colleges, institutions, and deemed universities
- Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions
- Post-MBBS DNB and NBE diploma courses
Institutions Not Covered Under NEET-PG
Centralized admissions via NEET-PG do not apply to:
- AIIMS (all campuses)
- PGIMER, Chandigarh
- JIPMER, Puducherry
- NIMHANS, Bengaluru
- Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute, Trivandrum
No separate entrance examinations will be held by state governments or private universities for MD/MS/PG Diploma admissions.
